7 firms in Aklan cited
Seven business establishments in Aklan were recently cited by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Aklan for actively supporting its business and tourism surveys conducted last year.
These establishments are Boracay Tropics, Mandala Spa Resort and Villas, Boracay Land Transport MPC, Discovery Shores, Southwest Tours Boracay, Tirta Spa and Akelco.
The awarding was held during the Respondent’s Forum on April 28, 2016 at Royal Suites Condotel, Kalibo.
Each received a certificate of appreciation given by OIC Antonet Catubuan.
Mrs. Catubuan said that these firms deserved to be recognized for their timely submission of survey questionnaires and for giving accurate information as respondents during the 2014 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry and Survey of Tourism Establishments in the Philippines.
She said that data from ASPBI is used to formulate policies and economic development plans, while information from tourism survey serves as an input for an effective and efficient programs and policy in the tourism industry.
“Conducting business survey is hurdling because most firms are unwilling to provide information about their business operations,” Catubuan said.
By doing this recognition, the PSA hopes to inspire and encourage other sample establishments to likewise accomplish the survey form promptly and accurately
